Calcium chloride dihydrate, also called calcium chloride dihydrate, is the first component of the Balling method (CALCIUM). Calcium chloride (CaCl2 + 2H2O) in accordance with the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur. 8), is delivered bagged and placed in a 4Kg bucket.
The classic solution is prepared by dissolving 357.5g of product in 5 liters of reverse osmosis water at 25-30°C. It helps maintain the calcium level at a rate of 20mg of calcium for 50mL of solution per 100 liters of seawater.
